filigree hoops (arrecadas)

Filigree hoops earrings, or Arrecadas, are inspired by the crescent of the moon. They are a plethora of ornamental Baroque motifs that justify the alias “barrocas” (baroque). They are a rare case in which the nobler social classes imitated pieces of popular jewellery, lending them an air of nobility and sophistication.
